Northern Integrated Supply Project Moves Forward With Windsor Park Dedication
Local officials and residents collectively cheered and smiled for the camera on Oct. 29 as the ribbon was cut at the Eastman Park Wetland Experience in Windsor.
In addition to offering a new playground and expansion of existing trails, the new park area also represents one of many environmental initiatives associated with the Northern Integrated Supply Project. NISP participants partnered with the Town of Windsor on the new 25-acre park, dedicating 9 acres of land to wetland mitigation along the Poudre River.
Northern Water's Carl Brouwer was one of the speakers during the ribbon-cutting event. Others who addressed the crowd were Windsor Mayor Julie Cline, Town of Windsor Open Space and Trails Manager Wade Willis, and Laura Browarny with the Windsor Arts Commission.
Altogether, there are more than $60 million in environmental measures associated with NISP, mostly taking place along the Poudre River.
