Our organization is growing and we’re seeking employees who are passionately committed to helping Northern Water collect and deliver water to over 1 million people and about 615,000 acres of irrigated cropland. We employ 180 people, with the majority of them based at our beautiful Berthoud headquarters, and about 20 employees based in scenic Grand County on the West Slope of the Continental Divide. We employ a variety of professions including engineers, IT professionals, financial services, construction and maintenance workers, administrative and more.
Northern Water was created as a public agency in 1937 to operate the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, which delivers water to portions of eight Northeastern Colorado counties. In addition, because of economic and population growth in our service area, we are working on two new water supply projects. Construction on the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project began in August 2021. We also continue to develop the Northern Integrated Supply Project, which will help meet the growing water needs of the region for generations to come.
