Forecasts of the C-BT Project Watersheds

Northern Water’s snowpack and streamflow forecasts show snow-water content comparisons and streamflow predictions for eight important watersheds that feed the Colorado-Big Thompson and the Windy Gap projects. The eight river basins are the Upper Colorado River, Willow Creek, Fraser River, Blue River, Poudre River, Big Thompson River, St. Vrain River and Boulder Creek. We use a variety of streamflow forecasting models to predict total the April through July undepleted (natural) flows and publish seasonal forecasts on this page monthly from February to May. The forecasts are used by Northern Water staff for planning purposes, by the Northern Water Board of Directors for allocating C-BT Project water, and by municipal and agricultural water users for planning their seasonal activities.
