Educating Our Communities About Water

Every year Northern Water collects and delivers more than 200,000 acre-feet of supplemental water from the Colorado-Big Thompson Project. The water is collected from the melting snowpack in the Colorado River Basin headwaters and transported beneath the Continental Divide (via the Adams Tunnel) to Northeastern Colorado. Northern Water’s Municipal Subdistrict also delivers Windy Gap Project water to the Front Range via the C-BT Project’s infrastructure. In addition, Northern Water maintains canals and pipelines, monitors water quality, plans for proposed projects and more.

We have a great deal to share about Northern Water and these projects, which is why educating the public about what we do is so important. We’re available to share this information through presentations on a variety of water topics ranging from the history of the C-BT and Windy Gap projects to using water more efficiently in the yard and home.
