With the final full year of scheduled construction at Chimney Hollow in the rearview, many project components are finished or nearing completion.

Throughout the past two months, Poudre Valley REA completed the underground phase of work that brings power from County Road 18E to the on-site valve house.

Holiday Site Closure and Winter Construction Hours

The site will be shut down from Dec. 24-Jan. 2 for the holidays. Crews will continue to work throughout the winter 24 hours a day, six days a week.

Crews Complete Vital Connection Between Chimney Hollow, C-BT Infrastructure

The link is now complete between Chimney Hollow Reservoir and the existing water-distribution infrastructure that will carry supplies to the project’s participating communities.  

Valve House Nearly Enclosed and Final Two Valves to Arrive on Site in Spring

The process, which took a little over three months, included installing the prefabricated steel walls and roof panels around the entire 120-by-120-foot building.

The $10 million Chimney Hollow saddle dam, 2.5 miles south of the main dam at the head of the valley, is slated for completion in December.
