Larimer County officials have published the Chimney Hollow Open Space Adaptive Management Plan, a document that will guide recreation at the new reservoir and adjacent open space for years to come.

As the main contact for all Stantec engineers onsite at Chimney Hollow, Resident Engineer Keith Gudenkauf is responsible for onsite engineering.

Chimney Hollow Reservoir crews celebrated on site on Monday, Feb. 24, as the final two valves arrived from Germany. Workers will install the two valves inside the valve house by the end of March.

One of the highest priorities of project managers at Chimney Hollow is ensuring the new reservoir’s infrastructure is ready for anything – even if “anything” might happen only every 500 years.

The 2,000-long-foot tunnel that will bring water in and out of the reservoir is about 80 percent complete as of the end of February.

The team’s work allows operators to oversee and control various project mechanics such as pressure transfusers, flow meters and valve positions from our control center in Granby.
