Quarry Blasting Hits Peak Production
To keep the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project on track for completion in the summer of 2025, rock quarrying and material processing are among the most essential aspects of the Chimney Hollow dam construction. Blasting in the quarry is at peak production to supply the approximate 62,000 tons of material daily. This material is keeping crews busy dumping a 100 ton load every two minutes, 20 hours a day, six days a week for the next two years. Iain Fraser, a Project Engineer with Barnard Construction, oversees the daily blasting operations and shares additional details in this new video.
