We’re Focused on Being a Good Neighbor

Chimney Hollow Reservoir will be an important component to the water supply portfolios of 12 water providers and a utility throughout the region, but for one group of people, it will have a much different role: it will be their neighbor.

Several rural subdivisions lie in the neighborhood of Chimney Hollow in southern Larimer County. In fact, many were built because of their proximity to other nearby reservoirs: Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir and Pinewood Reservoir, each of which are part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project.

During construction, representatives of Northern Water and Barnard Construction Co. Inc. have used various tools to keep neighbors informed about work on the project. In fact, many have been highlighted in this monthly newsletter available to interested readers.

However, did you know that Northern Water maintains a presence on YouTube to provide video updates on the project? Or that residents can find out about important daily events such as blasts in the quarry via the project website at chimneyhollow.org?

Area residents have been able to join project participants on visits to a construction site overlook and to learn more about the project during neighborhood outreach events and social media posts.

Just as work on the reservoir is not finished, neither is the community outreach for the project. If you have questions about the project or suggestions for future features or news articles, please contact the Northern Water communications team at CHRinfo@northernwater.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
