The on-site rock quarry, which minimizes construction traffic and local community impacts, will produce 2-foot and smaller material and rockfill aggregate for portions of the main dam surrounding the asphalt core. At its peak, the rock quarry will produce about 62,000 tons of material per day. 

To maintain the project’s timeline, quarry crews will soon begin working double shifts to produce and place rock on the main dam embankment. As with other project components, we are actively mitigating quarry and aggregate processing noise and impacts to the local community.
