Spotlight on Stantec Engineering

Stantec has provided complete design and engineering of the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project. The project consists of an approximately 350-foot-tall hydraulic asphalt core rockfill main dam, 40-foot-high zoned rockfill saddle dam, inlet/outlet works in a tunnel in the main dam’s right abutment, and uncontrolled concrete spillway. The project also includes large diameter conveyance piping and a valve house to connect with the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, which is operated and maintained by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Northern Water.

Prior to construction, Stantec’s work also included geotechnical investigations, evaluation of alternatives, complete engineering analyses, preparation of intermediate and final designs, preparation of bid documents and support during the construction bidding process. Stantec continues to provide engineering services during project construction.
